Ambassador terms

Version 14 September 2026. These terms form the agreement between you and the operator of BangBangFishing ("BangBangFishing", "we", "us"). By submitting an ambassador application and by using a partner code we issue to you, you accept these terms.

1. Who can join

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must own or control the social accounts you list in your application.
  • Your follower and engagement figures must be genuine. Purchased followers, engagement pods or bot traffic are grounds for immediate removal and forfeiture of any unpaid commission.
  • Acceptance is at our discretion. We verify every application by hand and we are not obliged to give reasons for a decision.

2. You are an independent contractor

You are not our employee, partner, agent or joint venturer. Nothing in this agreement creates an employment relationship. You decide what to post, when to post it and how to say it. We do not set your hours, we do not pay a retainer, we do not require exclusivity, and we do not pre-approve your content.

You are responsible for your own tax, superannuation and insurance. You must not hold yourself out as able to bind BangBangFishing or as speaking on our behalf.

3. What you receive

There are no tiers and no follower minimums. Every ambassador receives the same thing: a personal partner code.

  • Your code takes $10 AUD off any rod for anyone who uses it.
  • You earn 10% of the value of every qualifying order placed with it, paid monthly. Clause 5 sets out exactly what that means.

The code has no cap and no expiry while you are an ambassador. There is no gifted product and no personal ambassador discount attached to the program — your earnings come from what your code sells.

We may run separate seed or gifting arrangements from time to time. Those are offered individually and are not part of this agreement, except that anything you receive from us is covered by the disclosure obligation in clause 8.

4. Staying active

The program is for people who actually fish the gear and talk about it. We ask that you:

  • post about the rods regularly, to a real audience;
  • share your code somewhere your audience will actually see it; and
  • fish the gear before you talk about it.

This is not a work obligation and there is no quota. We do not direct your content, set a posting schedule or require a minimum number of posts, and you are free to post nothing at all. If you go inactive for a long stretch we may deactivate your code and end the arrangement — that is the only consequence.

5. Commission: what counts, and when you get paid

Qualifying orders

An order earns you commission only if all of the following are true:

  • your partner code was applied to the order;
  • the order was paid in full and was not cancelled;
  • the order was not refunded or charged back;
  • the order contains at least one product from our Rods collection. Parts, accessories and everything outside that collection do not earn commission;
  • the order was not placed by you, by a member of your household, or shipped to your own address.

How much

Commission is 10% of the order value. "Order value" means the total actually paid for products in our Rods collection on that order, after your $10 discount is applied, and excluding shipping, handling and any non-rod items. It is calculated on the GST-inclusive amount paid.

Commission is per order, not per code use — an order containing three rods earns 10% of the rod total on that order.

Hold period and clawback

Commission is held for 30 days from the order date before it becomes payable, so that returns and chargebacks have time to settle. If an order is refunded, cancelled or charged back — at any time — the commission on it is reversed. If it has already been paid to you, the amount is deducted from your next payout, or is repayable to us on request if no further payout is due.

Payment

We reconcile at the end of each calendar month and pay the released balance within 14 days. There is no minimum payout threshold. Commission that is not yet released simply carries to the following month.

6. How you are paid, and tax

There are two payout tracks. Which one applies to you depends on whether you have an ABN.

Track A — you have an ABN: paid in cash

You must give us a valid ABN, which we verify on ABN Lookup, and your bank details. We pay by electronic transfer.

  • Commission is inclusive of GST, if any. If you are registered for GST, the 10% includes the GST component; we do not pay an additional amount on top.
  • If we are both registered for GST, you agree that we may issue recipient created tax invoices (RCTIs) for the commission and that you will not issue tax invoices for those supplies. You must tell us promptly if you cease to be registered for GST.
  • If you are not registered for GST, we will issue a remittance advice. It is not a tax invoice.

Track B — you do not have an ABN: paid in store credit

If you do not hold an ABN, we pay your commission as store credit with BangBangFishing, at face value, rather than in cash. Store credit is issued as a code tied to your customer account, does not expire, and is not exchangeable for cash.

You can move to Track A at any time by giving us an ABN, or by giving us a completed ATO Statement by a Supplier if one of its exemptions genuinely applies to you.

Tax — your responsibility

You are responsible for your own tax affairs. In particular:

  • Commission is your income, whether we pay it in cash or in store credit.
  • If we ever send you product free of charge or at a discount under a separate arrangement, that product is generally assessable income at its market value — it is a barter transaction, not a gift. We record it at recommended retail price and can give you a delivery docket showing that value for your records.
  • Nothing on this page is tax advice. Talk to your own accountant.

7. Your partner code

Your code is personal to you. You must not:

  • post it to coupon, deal-aggregator or cashback sites, browser extensions, or any site whose purpose is collecting discount codes;
  • bid on "BangBangFishing" or any of our product or brand names in paid search, or use them in ad copy or display URLs;
  • use the code on your own orders, or arrange for others to place orders on your behalf;
  • present the code as a site-wide sale, or imply the discount is bigger, or applies to more products, than it does.

We can deactivate a code at any time.

8. Disclosure — this one is not optional

Australian Consumer Law requires you to make it obvious that this is a commercial partnership. The ACCC has issued penalties for undisclosed influencer promotion, and the liability sits with us as well as with you.

On every post, story, video or email in which you use your code or feature product you received from us, you must:

  • use #ad, or the platform's own Paid Partnership / Paid Promotion label; and
  • place it in the first line of the caption, visible without tapping "more". On video, say it or show it on screen early.

Not sufficient: #gifted, #sp, #spon, #collab, #ambassador, tagging or @-mentioning us, a disclosure buried at the end of a caption or behind a "more" link, or a label only in your bio.

We will never ask you to hide this relationship, and we will never ask you to remove genuine criticism from a review. If anyone at BangBangFishing asks you to, please tell us — that request is not authorised.

9. Content, claims and conduct

Claims

Say what you actually think. Do not make performance claims we have not substantiated (for example, that a rod catches more fish, or that it will not break). Do not compare us to a competitor in a way you cannot back up. Only describe a product's specifications as we have published them.

Fishing conduct

Content you publish using your code must comply with the fishing rules of your state or territory. Specifically: observe bag, possession and size limits and closed seasons; do not feature protected, prohibited or no-take species as a catch; follow the rules for the waters you are in, including marine park zoning; and wear a lifejacket where the law requires one in any content shot in a vessel. Handle released fish properly.

General conduct

No content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that promotes unsafe or illegal behaviour. No promotion of alcohol to minors. Do not bring the brand into disrepute.

10. Content licence and your material

You keep ownership of the content you create. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to repost, reproduce and adapt content you publish in connection with the program — on our website, social accounts, email and paid advertising — for as long as you are an ambassador and for 12 months after. We will credit you where the format allows. If you ask us in writing to stop using a specific piece, we will, within a reasonable time, other than where it is already in a printed or placed campaign.

You warrant that you own or are licensed to use everything in your content, including music, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

You may use our name, logo and product images to promote us under this agreement. You may not alter our logo, register anything confusingly similar, or use our branding after the arrangement ends.

11. Liability

Nothing in this agreement excludes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to that, our total liability to you for anything arising out of this agreement is limited to the commission payable to you in the 3 months before the claim.

You indemnify us against loss we suffer because you breached clause 8 (disclosure), clause 9 (claims and conduct) or clause 10 (content warranties).

12. Privacy

We collect your name, contact details, social handles, audience figures and, if you are on Track A, your ABN and bank details — in order to run the program and pay you. We do not sell your information. We disclose it only to our payment and accounting providers, and where the law requires. You can ask us to access or correct it at sales@bangbangfishing.com.au. Your leaderboard entry shows a display name only.

13. Term, changes and ending the arrangement

Either of us can end this arrangement at any time, for any reason, by written notice — email is enough. On termination your code is deactivated. Commission on qualifying orders placed before termination is still paid, after the 30-day hold, unless we ended the arrangement because you breached clause 7, 8 or 9 — in which case unreleased commission is forfeited.

We may change these terms. We will post the new version here and email ambassadors. Changes to commission rates apply only to orders placed after the change.

14. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of that state have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
